This plain little tube has been hiding in our “to try” pile for quite a while now. It’s taken us a while to get round to using it, but with the freezing weather lately our skin has become so dry and taut, that we were hunting around for something to rescue it!

Natio are a brand we have tried a few things from before, they’re an Australian brand but are easily available over here, both on the net and from Tesco and Debenhams. They get big brownie points for being a brand that doesn’t test on animals.

The pearlescent Hydrating Mask packaging is minimalist and very unoffensive. The bottle doesn’t look particularly luxurious or adventurous but it is chic and classic. Natio say that the mask is to “Refresh and Re-energise. Organic rosehip oil and vitamin C helps improve skin cell structure and promotes natural lift for silky, firm, supple skin.”

The scent is quite light, but it does have quite a distinctive natural smell. It reminded us of granola for some reason, but it likely to be from the mix of sesame oil, fruit oils, leaf juice and the other ingredients, It isn’t overpowering and the scent remains pleasant the whole period you are wearing the mask.

The consistency of the mask was quite intriguing to us. It is actually quite thin; probably best compared to a light conditioner in texture, not like most moisturising masks we’ve tried. We were interested to see whether something so light could actually have an impact on our cold ravished face. Although light, it is easy to apply and the mask doesn’t run. It does solidify slightly during the wearing time, but it turns into more of a gel texture rather than hardening.

It was very pleasant to wear, and despite having rather tender and sensitive skin, we didn’t experience any stinging at all. It was only when we realised we’d been wearing it for around 30 minutes, that we thought it was about time we took it off! The mask is very easily removed with a muslin or flannel and warm water. Even wearing it for quite sometime didn’t make it sink into our skin completely, and there was still enough on our skin to be removed.

We have to say we were quite surprised to notice the difference the mask made, even at first use. Our skin was much, much softer, and felt more hydrated. Dare we say it, but it also did feel slightly plumper, almost as though we had pumped a little of the missing moisture back in. We’ve used this mask a couple of times now and we’re very pleased with the results and will be continuing to use it throughout the winter months. It just goes to show that hydrating masks don’t always have to be thick and heavy to make a difference!

Natio Ageless Hydrating Mask £9.28 at Debenhams, £11.60 from Tesco.

Have you tried anything from Natio? What did you think? Or have you found another skin saviour in your “to try” pile lately?
