Many of us are addicted to our iPads, iPhones and iPods and now for us beauty and makeup lovers there’s the i-pout! Having seen a few products from New ID Cosmetics, I was really looking forward to trying their i-pout range of lipsticks. I chose the Berrylicious shade, as I was looking for a warm pink shade to wear in the daytime.
The first thing that you’ll notice about these lippie’s is the handy little side mirror and the rather novel light you can click on if you need to touch up your makeup in the dark. Very handy for nights out or making sure you look good during a power cut! It’s hard for you to see how powerful the light is without the photos being taken in the dark, but it’s definitely bright enough to allow you to reapply and see what you’re doing in the little mirror.
The lipstick itself is a nice creamy formula, that gives full, semi-matte coverage. It leaves your lips feeling soft and isn’t drying, and it tends to last a couple of hours before needing to be reapplied. Of course, like all lipsticks it will last longer if you apply a base, blot, and the reapply. It will last even longer still if you don’t eat, drink, kiss or lick your lips – but then where’s then fun in that?!
The colour is lovely, very flattering and would suit most skin tones – not garish or overly bright, but also with the right level of warmth to be warn in the daytime as well as for a going out look. The only thing that was slightly unexpected was the strong berry scent that this lipstick has. I’ve not used scented lipstick since I was a teenager, so to me the scent seemed quite strong which was a little distracting. However, if you like scented products, this just adds to the overall “fun” feel of the product.
